Why your cat loves to hunt

Your cat doesn’t need to seek out food items as you offer her a healthy diet in the form of cat food in her dish and the occasional treat. Why does she still love to hunt?

Hunting is an instinctual behavior for your pet and you will likely find that she takes part in it regardless of what you are giving her for food. This is because she feels the desire to stalk, chase, and pounce on prey as it catches her eye. It can be fun for her and this is why so many playtime activities mimic hunting as well as why so many toys allow her to practice her skills. It’s also why your pet will still chase after something even if she has a full stomach and no desire to actually eat what she is following.
