Taking Care of Your Cat in Below Freezing Temperatures

When the months grow colder you will need to adjust your cat’s routine to accompany the change in temperatures. For instance, let your cat outside during the mid morning or mid afternoon when it’s warmer. If you let her out in the early morning or late in the evening, stay out with her and make sure you comes right back in. If it’s too cold for you to be outside then it’s too cold for your cat to be outside. If your cat has a short coat like the domestic shorthair cat or even the Manx or Siamese, you may need to get her a sweater to help keep her warm. If you have a Maine Coon cat then her lush coat will keep her protected from the cold. Your veterinarian Farmers Branch, TX can tell you that even though it’s cold outside, your cat still needs to drink plenty of water.
