Feeding Senior Cats

Getting old is a natural phenomenon and is inevitable. Humans and animals alike will get old no matter what. Just like dogs, cats age very fast than humans years. Felines are considered old when they reach 10 years. Once they reach this age, they may require extra maintenance and special diets.

As your cat ages, you may notice changes in her behavior and routine. There may be a decline in her appetite and metabolism which may lead to her getting overweight. If this happens, you may have to reevaluate her feeding patterns and schedule.

Be sure to ask your veterinarian for a specific food portion recommendation, as well as the proper frequency in feeding your cat. You can also keep track and monitor your cat’s

weight regularly. This will help you determine if your cat is still on track with her health.

A sudden change in your pet’s drinking and/or urinating habits should be brought to the attention of your veterinarians Cherry Hill, NJ.
