The coat of Neopolitan Mastiffs may come in black, solid grey, tawny, mahogany, or tan brindle (appearing dark with some dark-coloured stripes). Dogs whose heads have a white spot aren't qualified for the ring, but they can nevertheless be excellent guardians and companions. They go through average shedding, and weekly brushing (using hound gloves or bristle brushes) should keep their coats dead-hair-free and clean. Meanwhile, bathing is done when necessary— in which you should expect to get wet.
They have abundant and thick skin covered with a dense coat— all with the same smoothness and length (at most 1 inch) throughout the body. Their faces, on the other hand, have heavy and velvety wrinkles/folds from eyelids to dewlaps (loose throat/neck skin), lower lids, and lips' outer edges. Last but not least, in grooming the Neopolitan Mastiffs, be sure to keep their wrinkles clean and dry.
