How often you walk your dog really depends on your particular dog. If you have a Pomeranian puppy that is healthy and ready to go then you will need to walk him several times a day to help teach him to potty outside and to help release energy. Puppies need a lot of exercise to grow and to keep from getting bored. You should generally walk a dog at least 30 minutes a day or at least let him have 30 minutes of run around time in a fenced in area. For puppies like the Pomeranian, you may need to take him on several short walks in order to spread the walks out and help him break up his day. For a larger dog, like a Golden Retriever, one big walk of 30 minutes or more is definitely needed along with short potty breaks. Can You Decipher Your Cat’s Behavior?
Even if you have been
sharing your life and home with a cat or two for a long time, there are still
some cat behaviors and mannerisms that may leave you confused. Here are two
behaviors that you may have observed in your pet:
Meowing
Cats meow to
communicate with other cats as well as with their owners. A cat that is asking
for food or attention will meow at his owner. However, some launch into
persistent meowing which can be outright annoying. When you give in to his
demands, your kitty will soon learn he can get what he wants when he vocalizes
loudly and persistently, thus unknowingly fueling his behavior. Persistent
vocalization may also be due to pain, illness, or anxiety.
Petting-Induced Aggression
From purring
contentedly while being petted to suddenly nipping their owner’s hand, these
encounters are fairly common in pet cats. Some cats can’t tolerate being petted
and handled for a considerable period of time and won’t hesitate to let their
owners know by nipping.
Consult with your veterinarian
North Phoenix, AZ if you have concerns or
problems about your pet cat’s behavior.
