It would not be uncommon for most pet owners to think of cages as the
only shelter for their pets. You would think of putting a pet rabbit in a cage
too, but you really don't have to. It's possible and some rabbit owners do
allow their rabbit to roam around the house, but doing so takes a bit of
planning and getting used to. Before you let him roam around your house, you
need to train your beloved furry bunny friend first. Keep him in a cage for a
few months until he gets used to it and the environment. Afterward, you can let
him spend some time outside the cage to give him some freedom.
Just like other pets, rabbits can get the knack of getting into all
sorts of trouble. It is really critical that you rabbit-proof your home before
you let him roam around and stay outside his cage. Don't forget to do things
such as covering cords with PVC pipe, covering all the electrical outlets, and
protecting stuff like furniture which you don't want your pet to chew on.
Sudden changes in your pet’s health and/or
behavior should warrant an appointment with your veterinarian Bourne MA.
