The capability of an organism to hear can be affected by its ear shape and form. Let’s take cats, for example. Their pointy and sharp ears make it easier for them to hear. While humans can hear from 20 – 23,000 hertz and dogs from 67-45,000 hertz, cats can hear from 45 up to 64,000 hertz.
Cats have a keen sense of hearing. They can hear almost everything near them. They use their ears to hunt and detect where their prey is. It is all thanks to their unique ears.
Their heightened sense of hearing is not the only advantage given by their ears. It also keeps them in balance, the same with humans. Imagine how hard it would be if their ears were not functioning well. They won’t be as excellent hunters compared to when they have no ear issues.
