Hanoverian Scenthounds were bred by Liam Hound gatekeepers in Hanover City (from which they got their name) during the 19th century. They were made to possess the same tracking/hunting abilities as Liam Hounds, their ancestors.
Hanoverians are brindled, with deer-red color (ranging from all shades) as the primary color— some are masked, while others are not. Small patches of white may also be seen on their chest. These short-coated pups can be excellent pets for allergic people— plus, they can be groomed easily, needing only weekly brushing.
These loyal and calm dogs love to be with children, but adult supervision is nevertheless important during playtime. These high-energy dogs need at least one-half to one hour of daily walks, paired with a couple of shorter walks and active plays. Last but not least, these dogs don't naturally appreciate being with other animals, so it's better if they're the only pet at home.
