It’s a domesticated cat that originated in Southeast Asia and has now become highly popular in the U.S. It has been said today’s European Burmese cat originated from the line of female cats brought to the U.S. from Burma in the 1930s. The cat was bred with the American Siamese cat to produce today’s European Burmese. This cat was only dark brown in the beginning but has now expanded to 10 different colors which is what separates it the most from the common Burmese feline breed.
