Caring for Your Color Point Shorthair Cat

Do you own a Color Point Shorthair cat? You may already be familiar with the breed’s long, slender yet muscular build and thin frame. The Color Point Shorthair is a cross between the Seal Point Siamese and Red Tabby American Shorthair. Due to the breed’s thin frame it requires a diet rich in protein to maintain muscle. The feline should also exercise regularly. The Color Point Shorthair cat has been known to come in 16 different colors all with color point markings on the head, tail and legs. Little grooming is required. In fact, a brush through the coat once in a while works nicely. Baths are rarely needed as the breed if fairly clean cut. The Color Point is sociable, talkative and a great feline companion. The feline has been known to sense a person’s mood and make efforts to cheer the person up.
