Some
animals need to have their nails clipped, like dogs. Others, like
hamsters and rats, don’t. What about guinea pigs? Do they have to have
their nails clipped?
In
most cases, guinea pigs will need to have their nails clipped. They
have thicker nails than other rodents, so they probably aren’t going to
wear down on their own. It’s a good idea to take a look at your pet’s
nails once a week and clip them when it’s necessary. The more you
practice clipping them, the more your critter will get used to it, and
the easier it will become.
Want to clip your pet’s nails less often? Place rough boards in the cage or let your pet come outside to play on the sidewalk.
You don’t have to clip your pet’s nails by yourself! Schedule an appointment with your best veterinary clinic Tipp City, OH and they can help!
