Ear Mites in Dogs

Common mites found in dogs include the Otodectes cynotis or ear mites. Signs of ear mites includes excessive scratching and shaking of the head. A dog may shake his head so hard or so much that a hematoma of the ear or broken blood vessel may occur. Still other dogs may scratch their ears so hard that they pull the hair out of their ears.
