Weepy or Watery Eyes in Cats

Occasional weepy or watery eyes in your cat is usually not a big concern. But daily weepy or watery eyes could signal something going on with the eye or tear duct or it could be a sign that your cat has allergies of some kind. If your cat’s eyes are draining and staying wet then you should lightly dry them or wash them off to avoid them drying and getting gunky or crusty. You can find pet eye wipes online and in most pet stores. If your cat’s watery eyes start to drain with a thicker substance like mucus then call your vet immediately as this could signal infection. If you have more than one cat in the home be sure to keep them separated until you find the cause of the one cat’s weepy eyes. This is a precaution to avoid a possible contagious infection.
