Buying Contacts: Do's And Don'ts

There are now many ways for you to buy contact lenses, both decorative and prescription. However, going through a discount source may save you money, but it can also cause a whole slew of medical problems, including serious infections and even blindness.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is buying lenses from flea markets. Other risky retailers include street venders, novelty stores, costume stores, convenience stores, and websites that do not offer prescriptions. Buy your lenses from authorized retailers or, better yet, local eye care centers.

If you aren’t sure what type of lenses are good for you, consult your doctor. For instance, if you hate dealing with cleaning and disinfecting lenses, daily disposables may be your best bet.

Also, don’t skip going to the doctor. If you need a new prescription, you may be doing your eyes more harm than good by sticking with the old one.

You only get one set of eyes! Be sure to protect them.
