Do Not Feed Your Dog Dough

Please do not feed your dog or any other pet any kind of foods that could hurt them including dough. It’s important to brush up on the list of foods that you should not feed our pet. For instance, potentially harmful foods are added to the “do not feed” list on a regular basis. Your vet can help you access this list or give you his own list of foods that are not safe for your Golden to eat. One of the most important foods to keep away from your Golden is raw bread dough or other dough. Raw dough typically contains yeast, which can be hazardous to dogs. A dog’s stomach provides an ideal environment for swallowed yeast or dough to expand and rise. This will cause your dog’s stomach to expand which can decrease blood flow to your dog’s stomach and affect his breathing. Learn more from your vet Cy-Fair.

Tips to Limit Your Dog’s Shedding

Shedding is a physiological phenomenon that naturally happens in all dogs. Shedding is a way for dogs to get rid of old as well as damaged hair, and this eventually gives new hair space to develop and grow. Not all dog breeds are equal when it comes to shedding; Some breeds tend to shed more hair than others. Shedding of hair should be one of the considerations of a prospective dog owner when choosing a dog to care for. When a dog gets exposure to seasonal fluctuations, often during fall and spring months, the dog can shed much more than they normally do. Having said that, dogs that spend a lot of their time inside the house tend to shed much less. The following tips can help you limit your dog’s shedding:

· Work with your preferred vet if your dog has allergies. Allergies can contribute to unnecessary shedding

· You need to brush your dog’s coat regularly

· You must give your pet a bath regularly

Excessive shedding, especially if it’s not shedding season, should be brought to the attention of your vet  Cy-Fair. Click here to learn more.

Lost Dog

If your dog is lost or has accidentally escaped out of the house or yard, don’t panic. Instead, the first thing you should do is search your house to make sure he’s not inside. If you saw him get out, go in the direction you saw him go and start searching. Search a one mile radius ASAP to make sure he’s not close by. If you still don’t find him, call your vet and all other veterinarians, shelters, policy departments, animal control officers, etc. in a 20 mile radius to alert them of your missing dog. You should also put together posters with a recent picture of your dog along with a description of him and your contact information. Put the posters up within a one to two mile radius of your home and especially at intersections where people will have time to stop and see the poster. Where to find the pet supplies your dog needs

Your family wants to make sure everyone in the household is well-cared for and this includes your canine companion. Where can you find the pet supplies she needs?

Your dog needs to count on you to offer her ways to meet her needs and this will include specific pet supplies to help her make this happen. Your little fur ball needs you to scour local pet store to make sure you are bringing home the items she needs. You may be able to get certain items in stores you frequent that have a section dedicated to pets. You can also seek out supplies online and have them delivered to your front door. If you are having trouble finding something, you can try asking your pet’s veterinarian for suggestions. Your local animal hospital Cy-Fair can help you better understand your pet.
