In multi-cat households, there should be enough resources for all cats to enjoy. And one of these is having a variety of vertical spaces simply because cats love them. Cats that live under the same roof soon develop systems for timesharing food, water, toys, vertical spots, spaces, etc. What’s good about having several vertical spots is that there will be a consequent reduction of territorial and competitive behavior, thus there will be less fights and other forms of aggression. Vertical spaces include cat walks, cat trees, cat shelves, window perches, etc. Investing in a multi-tiered cat tree can also provide more vertical spaces that can accommodate several cats. Just be sure that the base of the cat tree is stable so it won’t topple over easily .
