Dry Pet Food - Pros And Cons

Many pet owners prefer to give dry pet food to their pets because it’s more economical than wet or canned pet food. It won’t spoil easily so it can be left out for dogs that eat slowly. Although it’s harder than wet food, kibbles are not messy to feed and the size is generally formulated to be appropriate for a dog’s breed. Because of its formula and size, dry pet food is generally ideal for dental health. Kibbles can also be used as treats and they have a longer shelf life. There are pet owners, however, who are concerned about the water content of kibble but you can add a little water on top but make sure your pet consumes his food so it won’t spoil.

Since dry food don’t smell as strong and enticing as wet or canned pet food, it won’t be as appealing to older or ill animals. During hot weather, there is a need to provide more water for your pet and since it does not have a strong smell as canned pet food, it won’t be as appealing to some pets. Dry pet food also has slightly less animal protein.
Your pet’s diet is one of the important concerns that you should check with your vet Scottsdale, AZ on your pet’s wellness checks.
