Solanine is present in the green parts, such as stems and leaves, of a tomato plant that, if ingested, can poison your pet. In general, red tomatoes are safe for dogs to eat. But, be wary of green tomatoes as they have more amount of solanine than red tomatoes. Always supervise your pet when outdoors.
