Tips For Hassle-Free Trimming Of A Cat's Nails

Trimming your cat's nails will only benefit both you and your cats to avoid any accidental scratching injuries for you. One great idea if your cat despises nail-trimming is to wrap a towel around his whole body to restrain him, only exposing one paw at a time.

When cutting their nails, keep an eye on the ‘quick’ because this is where the edge of their blood vessels and nerves are located, and it will be excruciating for them and might cause bleeding if you hit a vein. You do not want that for your cat so have a little research first to find out how to locate and avoid them.

While holding their paw, press their toe to expose their claw. Keep in mind to cut it vertically and NOT diagonally to prevent splitting their nails. And if you are not comfortable doing this, it is best to leave it to the experts.

If you are unsure on how to go about trimming your pet’s nails, you can ask your vet Kerrville TX to show you how it’s done.
