Cats being so curious and explorative tend to roam around their surroundings regardless of how unsanitary they can be. For this reason, cats may go to an area filled with infected feces or eggs. And accidentally, they may ingest these untidy things or substances.
Understand that even if you keep your feline friend indoors, she may still acquire worms when you let her go out once in a while. Sharing litter boxes inside the household may also spread infection.
Meanwhile, cats living outdoors are more prone to contracting those pests because they hunt and consume rodents that may be infected.
