Puppy-Proofing Your Home

Adopting a new pup may be exciting, but you'll realize later on that your house isn't safe for puppies yet. Thus, you should puppy-proof your home first. You should know how - and when - to make your home safe for puppies before adopting a new puppy. Puppies are very energetic and curious creatures, so you should think a step ahead before pup accidents happen.

You probably haven't thought that some yard and indoor plants can be harmful to your pup. Here are some of the plants to keep away from your puppy:

●snake plants

●lilies

●oleander

There are also outdoor plants that can be toxic to your pup, such as palms (Sago and Areca) and weeping fig trees. Thus, keep them out of your puppy's reach.

However, you don't need to throw your beloved plants away. You can still keep them, but ensure that your plants aren't reachable to puppies.

If your pet is showing any signs of illness, contact your veterinary clinic Kerrville TX for an appointment.
