Scooting In Dogs: Could It Be Parasites?

Having pets goes beyond playing with them and feeding them. As an owner, you should understand them and know why they do certain things, like scooting.

Scooting is considered an embarrassing and alarming habit of most dogs. Not only because it does not look “good” in the eyes of many, but also because it may mean that your dogs are already suffering from a health issue.

When your dogs are scooting and vomiting or having diarrhea at the same time, then most probably they have parasites in their intestines. To help you address this issue, here are more facts about it:

Intestinal parasites include roundworms or tapeworms.

Tapeworms can come from fleas ingested by the pups. Meanwhile, roundworms are acquired from roundworm eggs found in other animals, such as rodents, cockroaches, and other dogs’ poops.

Clean the anal part of your dogs when you see them scoot. Scooting is an indication that your pooches are irritated or not comfortable.

If you are deeply bothered by the scooting of your dog, make an appointment with your animal hospital Aurora CO.
